Thinking about the materials you plan to engrave, the finish you want, and how often you want to change or replace knives. The solid-carbide inserts are known for producing crisp, clean cuts and lasting longer as comparable solid-carbide bits; V-tips are specified for engraving softer metals like aluminum, brass, and copper. The RCK-361 30° V-tip offers a 0.010-inch tip for controlled engraving, while the RCK-363 30° V-tip provides a wider 0.030-inch cut. In my shop I use the above listed and the AMS-209 set which includes seven profiles for varied tasks; multiple angles, widths, and knife styles let me match performance to the job and customers requirements.
