The customers choice of the cutting profile or edge shape is one of the most important specifications for their table edge outcome . Using the correct router bits will directly determines the final look and feel of the tabletop or furniture edge. The "best" profile depends on your design goals—whether they want a classic ogee, a reverse curve, a simple roundover, or a more classical edge. Having different profiles allows you to match their project to period styles and adds elegance, or to reduce the visual thickness of a tabletop. I use the Amana Tool 49559 for a classic reverse curve on period furniture, and the Amana Tool 49556 gives you a shallow ogee and bead for a classical look. Having many profile options available in my shop allows me to give the customer the right bit to achieve the desired look and feel of their project.
