Question: Why is radius important in solid surface router bits and what are the benefits of different radii?
Answer: The radius (R) on a solid surface router bit determines the curve of the edge, which is crucial for both the look and safety. A larger radius (like 3/4",as in the 57141) creates a smoother, more rounded edge and is ideal for countertops that need to be both attractive and feel comfortable to the touch. Smaller radii (such as 1/8" in 57147) are perfect for delicate detail work and subtle edge treatments. The selection from small to large radii, enables me to choose the perfect edge style for my customers project, and having many options available to match their needs and expectations. Remember you only get one chance to impress them.
