A drip edge on a window sill is a small groove or lip designed to channel water away from the building. It prevents rainwater from running back toward the wall and entering the wall sheathing and cavity reducing the risk of water damage , mold and hidden rot. In my shop I use the Amana Tool 53824 for my window sill edge cuts, it's a quality bit for great clean edges
