Yes, they can be sharpen but the carbide-tipped drill bits, requires special diamond grinding wheels because carbide is extremely hard. Special care must be taken not to overheat the tip, as excessive heat can damage the carbide. In my shop I have them sharpened by a professional for optimal results and longer life of the bit. Quality is the key to great tool outcome and perfect end results.
