Rabbit joints, also known as rabbet joints, can be weaker than other types of woodworking joints because they rely mainly on glue and end grain hold also have less surface area for bonding. They require precise cutting to fit properly, and if not done right, the joint will be loose or misaligned. The rabbit joints is not suitable for applications requiring high structural strength and a demanding use.
