The cutting height (CH) is how deep the bit can cut into you workpiece and how much profile shows on the edge. A taller cutting height enables deeper coves and more pronounced profiles, while a shorter height is ideal for shallow more decorative edges. Projects with thicker materials or more pronounced profiles benefit from cove router bits with greater CH, like the 2-3/16" CH as in the Amana Tool 49126, while standard applications might require a bit like the Amana Tool 49114 with a 9/16" CH. I use many profiles in my shop which makes my projects and customers very happy . Having a multiple varity available, allows me to match the bit to the thickness of the workpiece and the depth of detail I need . The key to a great outcome is quality bits for the best outcome.
