The cutting diameter (D) is the width of the cut and the size of the cove profile, which is important in selecting cove router bits. The larger diameter allows for wider profiles, and the smaller diameter is for intricate work or tight spaces. The best diameter depends on your router’s collet size and the the workpiece you are working on. In my shop I have used the smaller diameters like the 3/4" D in the Amana Tool 49100 and the extra-large bits like the 2-1/16" D in the Amana Tool 49126. Having a large selection ensures I get the right detail and the best finish for any project I am creating.
