The motor is a key consideration because it directly affects the saw's ability to cut through various materials with efficiency and demanding job outcome. Higher horsepower motors, such as 3HP, are better suited for heavy-duty or continuous use, allowing you to work with thicker hardwoods and dense materials. Lower horsepower motors, like 1.75HP, are ideal for hobbyists or lighter-duty work, offering lower energy requirements and easier installation in home workshops. SawStop saws are available with both 1.75HP and 3HP motors, as seen in the PCS175-PFA30 (1.75HP) and PCS31230-TGP252 (3HP). This range ensures you can select the right motor power to fit your workload and shop requirements. Remember there is no price you can put on a severed finger or hand , we are not as lucky as the Starfish or Crab a severed limb does not grow back. In my shop I have the SawStop JSS-120A60 because its the safest and is fold able for storage .
