A plunge / track saw is worth getting if you need precise, clean cuts in sheet materials like plywood or MDF, especially for cabinetry or furniture making. You can start cuts anywhere on the material and the guide rail makes it more versatile and accurate than a regular circular saw. In my shop breaking down panels of plywood is constant thing as it is in most woodworking or home improvement projects, it is a very valuable investment and makes breaking down large panels safe and easy plus precise.
