In my shop I use a straight bit or spiral upcut bit is best for cutting circles with a router, they give me a clean, accurate edges. For smooth, finished edges, a flush trim bit with a template can also be used. My choice depends on whether I am cutting out a circle or trimming to a template.Also when I ma trimming to a template I use a bit with a bearing at the top or bottom depends on where the template or finished edge is that I am following.
