You have to select the correct size cutter for the job you are performing for the materials thickness this ensures your cutter can handle the stock you are working with. Whether it’s 5/8”, 3/4”, or another common size using the right cutter for the panel thickness guarantees clean edges and proper profile depth. The SC509 is designed for 3/4” material and the SC516 is best for 5/8” material and I have used both in my shop with a great outcome. Having a great selection for different thicknesses lets your shop get the best results for a variety of woodworking projects and jobs
