We’ve provided several answers to questions related to Solid Surface Router Bits , see some other helpful Q&A related to this product.
Question: What type of router bit for Corian?
Answer: For cutting Corian, use carbide-tipped router bits, as they are durable and stay sharp when working with this solid surface material. Straight, flush trim, and round-over bits are commonly used depending on the desired edge or joinery. Avoid high-speed steel bits, as they dull quickly on Corian. When a job calls for a solid surface material I use the AMANA Tools Brand of router bits , they just work perfectly every time.
Question: What type of blade do you use to cut Corian?
Answer: To cut Corian, you should use a carbide-tipped circular saw blade with fine teeth, such as a triple-chip or alternate top bevel (ATB) blade. These blades provide a smooth, clean cut and help prevent chipping or cracking of the material. I use only AMANA Tools solid surface blades they have a wide selection and I have never had a problem with them.
Question: What should you not use with Corian?
Answer: You should not use harsh chemicals like oven cleaners, acetone, or strong acids and bases with Corian, as they can damage the surface. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, which can scratch or dull the finish. Additionally, do not place hot pots or pans directly on Corian to prevent heat damage.
Question: Do you need a special blade to cut Corian?
Answer: You do not need a special blade to cut Corian, but it is recommended to use a carbide-tipped saw blade with fine teeth for the best results. This helps ensure a smooth, clean cut and reduces the risk of chipping or damaging the material. In my shop I only use the AMANA Tools brand of bits and blades.
