One of the most important differences between the image scan > Vectric workflow is that it's incredibly easy to introduce distortion via scanning. Using the Trace Frame and whatever you device you have at hand is a super-convenient and reliable way to get an immediate vector output that you can then edit on the fly using your phone or tablet. The software accounts for lighting discrepancies and there's no worrying about parallax or image distortion.
